Three wins, three defeats for Romanians on the first day of the Youth Championships

Romanian boxers scored three wins and three defeats on Wednesday, on the first day of the World Youth Boxing Championships in Budva (Montenegro).

Eduard Petrica Muset qualified for the second round in the 80 kg category, after defeating Chinese Zhennan Suo on points (4-1). In the round of sixteen, Muset will face Belarusian Kiril Gorbatenko.

In the 67 kg category, Nicu Arun Tudoroiu defeated Lithuanian Renat Krepstul, by technical KO in the second half of the match, and in the round of sixteen he will meet Armenian Arghisti Hakobian.

Alexandra Dudau qualified for the round of sixteen of the 60 kg category, after a technical KO in the third round, against Kosovar Orinda Xhakli. The next opponent of the Romanian will be Hungarian Noemi Raba.

In the first round of the 51 kg category, Nicolas-Antonio Chivu lost on points (2-3) to the Chinese Bowen Song.

In the 60 kg category, Vasile Scalco got defeated on points (0-5) by Bulgarian Viktorio Iliev, in the first round.

Gheorghe Cosmin Buleu was defeated on points (0-5) by Israeli Ariel Prilutsky, in the first round of the 86 kg category.

As many as 660 athletes from 88 countries registered for the competition, Romania being present with a delegation of 21 athletes, 12 women and 9 men.
