Senator Titus Corlatean was appointed rapporteur of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy, on the occasion of the third part of the PACE ordinary session (Strasbourg, 24-28 June, 2019), the Senate informs in a press release sent on Thursday to AGERPRES.
The members of the PACE Commission for Political Affairs and Democracy unanimously appointed Senator Titus Corlatean, member of the Delegation of the Romanian Parliament to PACE, rapporteur on marking ten years since the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty: strengthening cooperation between the Council of Europe and the European Union.
Among the forthcoming mandate elements of wording this draft report are further promotion of the EU accession project to the European Convention on Human Rights and the upholding of the Council of Europe's exceptional acquis in human rights, democracy and rule of law.
