The trade balance deficit in the first seven months this year amounted to EUR 18.039 billion, EUR 2.435 billion (+15.6%) higher than in the similar period of 2023, according to statistics the National Institute of Statistics (INS) released on Monday, informs Agerpres.
Between January 1 and July 31, 2024, FOB exports totaled EUR 54.586 billion and CIF imports amounted to EUR 72.625 billion. Compared with the similar period in 2023, exports dropped 0.9% and imports rose 2.7%.
Important shares in the structure of exports and imports are held by the product groups: cars and transport equipment (47.1% for exports and 36.4% for imports) and other manufactured goods (29% for exports and 28.5% for imports).
The value of intra-EU 27 trade in goods between January 1 and July 31, 2024 was EUR 39.486 billion in dispatches and EUR 52.873 billion in arrivals, representing 72.3% of total exports and 72.8% of total imports.
The value of extra-EU 27 trade in goods in the first seven months of 2024 was EUR 15.1 billion in exports and EUR 19.753 billion in imports, representing 27.7% of total exports and 27.2% of total imports.
