The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure encourages the growth of US investments in Romania and in the Central and Eastern Europe region, in a favourable context marked by administrative reforms, the accelerated development of infrastructure and progress towards accession to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Transport Minister Ciprian Serban conveyed on Friday on his Facebook page.
The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure had a meeting with the US Ambassador to Romania, Darryl Nirenberg.
"Today, I had a meeting with His Excellency Mr Darryl Nirenberg, Ambassador of the US to Romania. We discussed strengthening the Strategic Partnership by intensifying bilateral dialogue and by expanding economic cooperation. The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure actively supports these efforts and encourages the growth of US investments in Romania and in the Central and Eastern Europe region, in a favourable context marked by administrative reforms, the accelerated development of infrastructure and progress towards accession to the OECD," Minister Serban pointed out.
The head of the Transport Ministry mentioned that within the discussion with the US official, he emphasised the role of the Constanta Port as a strategic logistics hub at the Black Sea, which facilitates the connection between European transport corridors, the Danube basin and international markets.
"Its importance has increased significantly in the context of the war in Ukraine, becoming an essential pillar for the stability of regional supply chains and the transit of critical goods. I reaffirmed our willingness to work closely with the US partners to turn this potential into concrete projects and investments with long-term impact," Ciprian Serban added.
