Tourists wanting to explore the hill area of Bistrita-Nasaud and Mures Counties by the Transylvanian Mocanita train will be able to do so starting the last weekend of May, according to a notification sent to agerpres. on Thursday by the association in charge with promoting this narrow gauge railway route.
The Mocanita route, approximately 35-km long, includes the localities Teaca of Bistrita-Nasaud County and Raciu of Mures County, with the departures going to be scheduled at 10:00 from Teaca station.
The first rides will take place on the days of 27 and 28 May, as well as in the period 1 - 4 June, in the Pentecost mini holiday.
"In this period we'll be able to enjoy relaxing days in nature, admiring the green hills of Transylvania, all sorts of wild animals, on a railway more than one century old. The departure is from the Teaca Station, and on the route we'll have stops at Valea Lupului and Ocnita station, with a visit to the Teleki Castel at Comlod, which is in a precarious state and needs urgent repairs," the release points out.
The maximum number of passengers for each ride is 60 persons, and the minimum, 20 persons.
The volunteers of the Transylvanian Mocanita Association are those who take care of organising and promoting the diesel train rides, which were resumed two years ago, after a break of about two decades.
