Turnover in market services provided to population went down in the first ten months of this year, compared to the same period in 2023, both as a gross series, by 1.1pct, and as a series adjusted depending on the number of business days and seasonality, by 0.9pct, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
According to the INS, the activity of market services provided to the population, gross series, during the period January 1 - October 31, 2024 recorded a turnover by 1.1pct lower compared to the period January 1 - October 31, 2023, as a result of the decrease in turnover in: activities of travel agencies and tour operators (-7.1%), hairdressing services and other beauty activities (-5.7%), hotel and restaurant activities (-1.7%) and gambling activities and other recreational activities (-1.1%). Washing and (dry) cleaning activities of textile articles and fur products increased by 13.9%.
The activity of market services provided to the population, series adjusted depending on the number of business days and seasonality, recorded a turnover by 0.9pct lower in the period January 1 - October 31, 2024, compared to the period January 1 - October 31, 2023.
Regarding market services provided to the population, gross series, in October 2024, compared to the previous month, the volume of turnover recorded a decrease of 5.4pct, as a result of the decreases recorded in the activities of travel agencies and tour operators (-9.4pct) and in the activities of hotels and restaurants (-8.0pct). Increases were recorded in: gambling activities and other recreational activities (+3.4pct), hairdressing services and other beauty activities (+2.0pct) and washing and (dry) cleaning activities of textile articles and fur products (+1.0pct).
Turnover in market services provided to the population, series adjusted depending on the number of business days and seasonality, increased by 1.1pct in October 2024, compared to the previous month.
The activity of market services provided to the population, gross series, recorded a turnover by 2.7pct higher in October 2024 against October 2023, due to the increases recorded in the activities of washing and (dry) cleaning of textile articles and fur products (+23.3pct), gambling activities and other recreational activities (+6.7pct) and in the activities of hotels and restaurants (+1.8pct). Decreases were recorded in the activities of travel agencies and tour operators (-4.5pct) and hairdressing services and other beauty activities (-0.4pct).
The activity of market services provided to the population, series adjusted depending on the number of business days and seasonality increased by 2.1pct in October 2024 compared to October 2023.
