An ultralight plane has allegedly crashed, on Monday, in the forest near Buhoci, Bacau County, and firefighters have left towards the area to conduct checks.
"Firefighters were requested to intervene in the forest in the area of Buhoci locality following a call announcing a possible air crash involving a small-sized plane. Traveling towards the indicated area is one fire engine with water and foam, one engine for first response and command, one extrication vehicle and a Mobile Emergency Service for Resuscitation and Extrication (SMURD) ambulance," said the spokesperson of the Bacau County Emergency Situations Inspectorate, major Andrei Grecu.
In his turn, the spokesperson of the Bacau County Police Inspectorate (IPJ Bacau), Catalina Paduraru, mentioned that firemen were announced by representatives of ROMATSA, Romania's civilian air traffic control company, of a possible air crash, Agerpres.ro informs.
"30 minutes ago, Bacau firefighters were announced by ROMATSA regarding the fact that a message of alert was received from the suit of an ultralight plane pilot, in a wooded area at the limit between the communes of Buhoci and Ungureni. At this moment, police officers are conducting search operations, together with the firefighters crews," said the spokesperson of IPJ Bacau, main inspector Catalina Paduraru.
According to the Ministry of National Defence, the aircraft in question is not military.
