An open-air traditional Romanian folk music concert, dedicated to the Universal IE Day, also known as the Universal Day of the Romanian Blouse, will take place on Sunday in the Court of Honor of the Mogosoaia Palace.
The event, organized by the Cultural Centre 'Brancoveanu Palaces at the Gates of Bucharest' and the 'Paul Constantinescu' Philharmonic in Ploiesti, will take place from 17:00.
"On the occasion of the Universal IE Day, the Cultural Center 'Brancoveanu Palaces at the Gates of Bucharest' and the Paul Constantinescu Philharmonic in Ploiesti organize an anniversary, open-air traditional Romanian folk music concert aimed to highlight the Romanian cultural heritage through traditional music, folk dances and authentic folk costumes," reads a press release sent by the organizers to AGERPRES on Tuesday.
The event is part of the series of events dedicated to the Romanian IE Day (June 24), a symbolic celebration of national identity and the beauty of traditional wear, celebrated in Romania and in Romanian communities around the world.
The artistic program will be performed by the Folk Orchestra 'Flacara Prahovei' of the 'Paul Constantinescu' Philharmonic in Ploiesti, conducted by Marian Dovinca, one of the most appreciated professional orchestras in the country in promoting traditional Romanian music, together with two of its vocal soloists - Gelu Voicu and Traian Frincu, the organizers announced.
The folk ensemble 'Flacara Prahovei' is made up of young professional dancers, coordinated by master choreographer Marian Marinica, who is responsible for the artistic conception of the choreographic moments presented in the show.
The public will have the opportunity to listen to orchestral suites and traditional vocal pieces, to admire folk dances from various ethnographic areas - Muntenia, Moldavia, Transylvania - in an emblematic historical setting, in the Court of Honor of the Mogosoaia Palace.
"We invite you to wear the Romanian IE and become part of an evening dedicated to authentic values, cultural memory and the joy of being together. The event will be made accessible for people with visual and hearing disabilities so that all lovers of Romanian folklore and culture can fully enjoy this celebration," the organizers add.
