Calea Victoriei/ Victoriei Road and the Triumphal Arch are the special destinations of the 6th edition of the Spotlight 2022 Visual Art Festival, according to a press release sent to AGERPRES on Wednesday by the organizers.

One of the most important festivals that exhibits new media art in the public space of Bucharest, Spotlight brings to Bucharest, between October 14 and 16, the latest projects in the field by Romanian artists.

The event is organized by the Capital City Hall, through the Directorate of Culture, Education, Tourism, together with ARCUB - the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Bucharest, Agerpres informs.

The main location of Spotlight 2022 will be Calea Victoriei, between the National Military Circle and the Romanian Athenaeum. Every evening of the festival, between 19:00 and 23:00, the route on Calea Victoriei will be animated by 3D characters, interactive installations, video mapping projections and VR works.

The first team from Romania nominated in the competition of the biggest light festival in the world Circle of Light Moscow, MotionLab, prepared for Spotlight - Made in RO an impressive show of video mapping and sound design on the facade of the National Military Circle. Other iconic buildings of the city transformed at Spotlight by video mapping works will be the Odeon Theatre, the Novotel Hotel and the Triumphal Arch.

The Spotlight audience is invited to compose music from the polluting particles in the air in the installation "Particle Composer", signed by the artist Denis Flueraru and placed in front of the Novotel Hotel.

In front of the National Art Museum of Romania, eight 3D animated creatures will come to life in the VR installation "Folklore Creatures - BestiAR". The digital creatures are made during XR Month by Romanian artists Alex Dohotaru, Augmented Space Agency, Irina Bako, Reniform and Dan Pecete.

Inspired by the Romanian SuperLiga, the interactive installation "Go Super" in the Odeon Theater Square will present moments of glory from the history of Romanian football in an impressive visual show proposed to the public by the main partner of the edition - Superbet.

The entertainment center at Spotlight will be in front of the "Muzica" store, where the party atmosphere given by the Discoball installation will be maintained by good music broadcast live by Radio Europa FM.

Revolution Square will host two light-art installations: "Human Head", created by the Romanian start-up Humans.ai, is a video mapping installation on a large sculpture, and the Kaleidoscope installation by Kaustik prepared for the public Spotlight an immersive experience of color, light and sound, which reconstructs the hypnotizing universe of a kaleidoscope. Four meters high and eight meters long, the oversized kaleidoscope invites visitors to step inside and let themselves be carried away by the illusion of color and light.

In Kretzulescu Park, the Galateca Gallery will present installations inspired by the theme of sustainability belonging to artists and start-ups participating in Spotlight for the first time.

After exhibiting at the London Architecture Festival, ARUP Phase2 Gallery and Shenzhen Design Week, architect Vlad Tenu will participate in Spotlight #6 with the light art installation about sustainability "Miniplex House of Light". The Romanian design start-up WOOBA pays tribute to Constantin Brancusi with the installation "Manifesto for balance", a modular column made of wood from surplus furniture production in Romania. Ioana Haluga's installation, also from the portfolio of the Galateca Gallery, invites Spotlight participants to take a selfie with the "Guardian".

One of the stars of the edition, the light-art installation "Lumi.Nativ" composes in perspective a traditional motif of seven metal structures and LED light at a distance of three meters from each other. Made by Noiseloop Studio during the FORMA 2 Local Cultural Festival in Targu Mures, the installation will be located at Spotlight - Made in RO on the sidewalk of the National Art Museum of Romania.

Present for the first time at the Spotlight festival, "Monument for" integrates two emblematic statues from Bucharest and the Triumphal Arch in the program of this year's edition. On the route from Calea Victoriei, the statue of Mihai Eminescu from the Romanian Athenaeum and the equestrian statue of Carol I in front of the Central University Library will be animated by video mapping projections as part of the "Living Statues" program, a campaign that aims to valorize monuments emblematic of the city through a series of artistic reactivations.

The second space in Spotlight 2022 is the triumphal Arch, which will be activated on October 16 through a special event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the monument's inauguration. The centenary of the Triumphal Arch will be marked in Spotlight by "Monument for" through a video mapping show on the facade of the building. The public is invited to discover the interior of the monument through a thematic exhibition related to the history of the time.
