Weightlifting: Romania's final medal tally at junior, youth Europeans grows to 11

Romania concluded the European Junior and U23 Championships in Raszyn, Poland, with 11 medals: four gold, one silver, and six bronze.

On Sunday, on the last day of the competition, Gabriela Valentina Daviduta finished in the fourth position in the women's U23 +87 kg class.

She lifted 96 kg in the snatch, 115 kg in the clear and jerk, after she failed her first attempt at 111 kg, and in the total she had 211 kg.

Compatriot Cosmina Pana, women's U23 49 kg class, won gold in the snatch, and bronze in the clear and jerk and in the all. Marinela Morosan, women's U23 59 kg class, took bronze in the snatch. Tiberiu Ionut Donose won three gold medals in the men's U23 73 kg class, and Anca Grosu won two medals in the women's junior 64 kg class: silver in the clear and jerk and bronze in the total. Darius Tataru won bronze medals in the men's junior 96 kg class.

Romania lined up 15 weightlifters - six in the men's and nine in the women's events - at the European Junior (U20) and Youth (U23) Championships in Raszyn. In all, 449 athletes from 35 countries registered for the competition
