Women's hockey: Romania advances to 2nd division, Group B of World Championship

The Romanian national team has promoted to the higher echelon after defeating Lithuania, 8-3 (2-1, 5-0, 1-2), on Sunday, in Zagreb, at the Under-18 Women's Ice Hockey World Championship, Division III.

Next year, Romania will compete in the fifth world echelon, Group B of Division II.

After 6-3 with Croatia and 3-2 with Thailand, the tricolors won clearly against Lithuania, with goals scored by Olivia Popescu (17.09), Eva Zlate (18.00), Bianca Mihai (20,53), Anna Vitos (25.05, 31.24, 34.38), Iana Platica (35.47, 54.34). For the Baltics, Rugile Stirnaite (15.29, 55.48) and Ausrine Rakauskaite (58.04) scored.

Before the Croatia - Thailand match, Romania occupies the first place in the ranking, with 8 points, followed by Croatia, 3 points, Lithuania, 3 points, Thailand, 1 point.
