157 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection, 17 to 23 November

A total of 157 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection were recorded between 17 and 23 November, a decrease of 25.6% compared with the previous week, the National Institute of Public Health (INSP) reported on Tuesday.

According to the INSP, 45 of the new cases recorded last week are reinfections, patients testing positive more than 90 days after the first infection or after another reinfection, agerpres reports.

Three deaths were reported in people with COVID-19 who had comorbidities, one of them reported more than a month after the date of death, the INSP also noted.

During the same period 399 RT-PCR tests and 7,423 rapid antigen tests were carried out.

The positivity rate was 2%, a decrease of 0.9% compared with the previous week.
