Twenty candidates have so far submitted their registration files for the electoral race for the Bucharest City Hall to the Municipal Electoral Office (BEM).
Candidacies can still be submitted until Monday at midnight, agerpres reports.
According to the BEM website, the following candidates have registered:

* Anca Alexandrescu (Electoral Alliance ''Justice for Bucharest'')
* Daniel Baluta (PSD)
* Danut Angelo Trifu (independent)
* Eugen Orlando Teodorovici (independent)
* Dan Cristian Popescu (independent)
* Gheorghe Netoiu (independent)
* Mihai Ioan Lasca (Romanian People's Patriot Party)
* George Burcea (Young People's Party - POT)
* Liviu Gheorghe Floarea (Maniu-Mihalache National Peasant Party)
* Oana Cretu (United Social Democratic Party - PSDU)
* Ana Maria Ciceala (SENS Party)
* Rares Lazar (Romania in Action Party)
* Angela Negrota (independent)
* Gheorghe Macovei (PRM)
* Dumitrica Stan (independent)
* Vlad Gheorghe (independent)
* Maria Marcu
BEM has validated six candidacies for the position of general mayor so far, namely Catalin Drula (USR), Ciprian Ciucu (PNL), Anca Alexandrescu (Electoral Alliance ''Justice for Bucharest''), George Burcea (Young People's Party), Daniel Baluta (PSD), Virgil Alexandru Zidaru (independent).
The candidacies remain final on November 23.
