The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR) will pay more than 263 million lei in the coming period to reimburse diesel fuel used in agriculture, with 15,517 farmers set to benefit from this support.
'The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, through the Agency for Payments and Intervention in Agriculture, is transferring these days a total amount of 263.5 million lei into the accounts of farmers who are beneficiaries of the state aid for diesel fuel used in agriculture. The payment is made in accordance with the provisions of Government Decision No 1174/2014 and Ministerial Order No 269/2025, as subsequently amended and supplemented, for diesel fuel used in eligible agricultural activities. A total of 15,517 farmers benefit from this support, with the value of the state aid amounting to 2.213 lei per litre, granted in the form of reimbursement,' the ministry said in a release.
The quantities of diesel fuel and the total value of the support were approved by Order of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development No 409 of 18 December 2025. The maximum annual quantity of diesel fuel that can be reimbursed is 410 million litres, in line with the current legal framework.
The state aid for diesel fuel represents an important support measure for farmers, helping to reduce production costs and maintain agricultural activities in a difficult economic context, Agerpres informs.
'Through this support for diesel fuel used in agriculture, the Ministry of Agriculture ensures that farmers have the financial resources needed to continue field work. Through the Agency for Payments and Intervention in Agriculture, we transfer these amounts directly into the beneficiaries' accounts so that Romanian agriculture can have stability and predictability,' said the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Florin Barbu, as quoted in the release.
