Approximately 100 hectares of dry vegetation burned on Tuesday within the radius of the town of Isalnita, in Dolj County, with the firefighters having managed to put out the fire after several hours.
According to the Dolj Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU), when the fire crews arrived, the fire was spreading over a very large area, between the towns of Isalnita and Bogea, on the railway line, where the voltage was turned off by CFR Craiova.
Also, the wildfire manifested in the proximity of the national road DN 6, the road traffic on the direction of Craiova towards Filiasi being affected by the smoke.
Six firetrucks with water and foam were rushed to the scene of the fire. There were also volunteers from the volunteer services for emergency situations from Isalnita and Almaj, who helped to put out the fire.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
