Argentina's ambassador to Romania, Carlos Alejandro Poffo, visited Constanta Port on Friday, highlighting its potential role in exporting Argentine goods - mainly agricultural products - through efficient transport routes to Europe.

According to the Maritime Ports Administration National Company (CN APM) SA, ambassador Poffo met with the company's leadership at its headquarters in Constanta to discuss opportunities for bilateral cooperation and strengthening economic ties, agerpres reports.

"Argentina is a major exporter of agricultural products such as soy, corn, wheat, and soybean oil, and is interested in efficient transport routes to Europe. Constanta Port, as a key Black Sea hub and gateway to the EU, can play an important role in channeling Argentine goods to Central and Eastern Europe," CN APM noted on its Facebook page.

Argentina is Romania's fourth-largest trading partner in Latin America and an important EU partner. In 2026, the two countries will mark 95 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations.
