As many as 35 houses of the southeastern Galati County are shown to have been seriously affected by flood water after the water was drained out, according to a first-hand assessment completed by the local authorities, reads a press release sent to agerpres by the Emergency Situations Inspectorate (ISU).
Very gravely affected are 13 dwellings at Cuza Voda, 20 at Pechea and two at Slobozia Conachi.
Over 300 ISU workers, soldiers, gendarmes, police staff using 100 technical means continue to intervene in Galati County to clean after the floods in the communes of Pechea, Slobozia Conachi and Cuza Voda.
According to ISU Galati, as of Monday 30 more firefighters will be added to the intervention teams as well as with three trailer and ten portable pumps in the counties of Vaslui, Vrancea and Braila to unclog wells in the three seriously flood-stricken localities.
Activities are continued to secure drinking water with the help of four pieces of drinking water equipment dispatched to Pechea, Cuza Voda and Slobozia Conachi.
In support of the population, as many as 900 sleeping bags were sent by the Red Cross and distributed with the help of the rescuing firefighters.
