A Black Hawk helicopter fitted with a Bambi Bucket will be deployed to put out a dry vegetation fire in the village of Sulta, Bacau County, the Bacau Emergency Management Inspectorate (ISU) informed on Monday, mentioning that the forest wildfire is located in a rocky and hard-to-access area. However, there is no possibility of expansion, said ISU Bacau spokesperson Ema Teres.
According to Teres, the rugged terrain renders the action of the firefighting crews very difficult, and completely putting it out will take a long time.
As many as 137 military firefighters from the ISU Bacau subunits, 26 employees of the Ciobanasu Forest Range and 24 volunteers from the local Emergency Volunteer Service intervened on site since the outbreak of the fire, on July 10.
