A number of 30 tourists were injured on the slopes of the Postavaru Massif since the beginning of the ski season and until the Christmas holidays, a number that is very high given that winter is only at its start, the Poiana Brasov Mountain Rescue Public Service informs, on its Facebook page.
According to the quoted source, on December 24, the Mountain Rescue Service was requested to intervene in five cases where tourists were injured on the Postavaru Massif slopes. Three of these cases presented trauma to lower limbs and two upper limb traumas. Three of the persons injured were turned over to ambulances or SMURD mobile rescue and extrication service ambulances, to be transported to hospital for further investigation.
On the first day of Christmas, the Mountain Rescue service was requested to intervene in six cases of persons injured on ski slopes, three suffering upper limb injuries, two lower limb injuries and one reporting malaise. Four of these cases were turned over to ambulance or SMURD ambulances.
Tuesday is a ski day on all the slopes in the Postavaru Massif, only some sections being closed due to lack of snow. The snow layer measures between 50 and 60 centimeters, with the exception of the Bradul slope, where the snow layer measures 30 centimeters. The Kanzel and Capra Neagra cable car, the telegondola, the Lupului and Ruia chairlifts, as well as the Bradul and Stadion ski lifts are all functional. Mountain Rescue representatives warn tourists to respect the indicators "Area closed", and not venture into those sectors, as the risk for injury is high.
