The campus of the Bucharest Polytechnic University will become the arena for Europe's largest robot battle between 31 October and 2 November, during the fourth edition of ROBOFEST, which will bring together over 1,200 participants from 30 countries and hundreds of teams of young engineers.

At the centre of the festival is Robochallenge, an internationally recognised competition for robotics enthusiasts. Its 14th edition will feature almost 1,200 robots from around the world competing in 20 impressive challenges, ranging from autonomous sumo fights and speed races to intelligent maze navigation and humanoid robot demonstrations.

The programme will include Sumo Robotics, where robots engage in tactical and strength duels, Line Follower and Line Follower Enhanced, featuring autonomous robots that follow tracks at high speed, as well as Maze and Humanoid Triathlon, robot football, Humanoid Robot demonstrations with machines capable of walking, dancing and interacting with the audience, and the Freestyle Showcase section for creative projects from educational robots to industrial inventions.

According to a press release, alongside the technical competitions, ROBOFEST 2025 will also include an exhibition area where technology companies will present their innovations, live demonstrations with robotic arms and autonomous robots, and educational activities for the general public.

ROBOFEST 2025 is organised by Bucharest Polytechnic University in partnership with the Robochallenge team and with the support of private sector partners. Entry for the public is free.

Robochallenge is part of the official national competition calendar of Romania's Ministry of Education.
