Bucharest's Victoriei Square protests end round 21,00hrs on Sunday

The demonstrators who protested on Sunday evening in Victoriei Square in front of the Government seat against the drafts to modify the justice laws started leaving around 21,00hrs, with about 100 persons remaining in the area after that hour. 

The protesters had placards with messages such as: "Corruption kills!," "I don't have a price, I'm not a rebel, I'm a citizen," "Independent Justice, not a puppet," "Freedom, not dictatorship," "Independent Justice, not obedient," "Convicts don't make the law!," "Forgive us, Your Majesty!." 

Moreover, another placards displaying a chess table had the following message: "We have lost the queen, we have lost the king, we are left with the bishops." 

Some of the protesters waved Romania's flag, however the EU or the US flags were also present. 

Demonstrators sang the national anthem and lit their mobile phones. 

In addition, they booed, and some blew whistles or vuvuzelas or played drums. 

Some of the slogans chanted were" "Thieves!," "Justice not corruption!," "PSD, the red plague!," "Resignation!," "Down with the communists!," "Romania, wake up!." 

The protest area was separated by a protection fence. 

Traffic in the area was resumed around 21,45.
