The meetings of the Parliament's Budget Committees in which the draft budget and the social security bill for 2026 will be discussed will take place exclusively in person.
The Chair of the Senate Budget Committee, Maria Gabriela Horga, and the Chair of the Chamber of Deputies Budget Committee, Bogdan Hutuca, requested on Friday that that the meetings on the budget drafts be held exclusively in person and not hybrid, as is currently customary.
"We hereby request that the debate on the draft State Budget Law for 2026 and the draft State Social Insurance Budget Law for 2026, which will take place in the joint meeting of the two Budget Committees, be carried out exclusively with physical presence, and in the case of dignitaries who are unable to participate physically, their presence be ensured by a 'substitute'. We note that this is necessary because the debates on annual budget laws are particularly complex, extend over several days and involve the intervention of dignitaries in real time, without communication breakdowns," the request of the two committee chairmen states.
