Save Romania Union (USR) Chairman Dacian Ciolos said on Tuesday that he had not yet discussed in the party the position of speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, which is to be vacated after Ludovic Orban resigns, stating that he does not want to enter "the game of conflict between Orban and Citu".
"We have not yet discussed this in the party leadership, we will see in the coming days. I must admit that yesterday and the other day we were focused on preparing this candidacy, this assumption that we made yesterday in Cotroceni," Ciolos said when asked whether USR will have a candidate for the position of the Chamber of Deputies' speaker.
Regarding the hypothesis that this position should be put on the negotiating table for the new government, Ciolos said: "We will see what is the position of our colleagues, now the position is occupied by Mr. Ludovic Orban from PNL, we will see how the issue and colleagues I did not have a discussion on this topic., Agerpres informs.
He added that for the formation of the government he will have discussions with the PNL leadership and does not want to enter the "conflict game between Orban and Citu".
Ludovic Orban announced that he will resign on Wednesday, at 12.00, from the position of Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies.
