Computerisation is essential in administration to cut through red tape and to make the decision-making process and the use of public resources more transparent, Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos told a PM's Question Time at a Chamber of Deputies plenary session on Monday.
In reply to MP Varujan Pambuccian, during the debate on public administration reform, Ciolos assured the MP that the Government has in view computerisation of public administration.
"I assure Mr Pambuccian that what he was saying about restructuring and computerisation in administration we believe is essential to cut through red tape and to make the decision-making process and the use of public resources more transparent, and we plan, even if admittedly it is not easy, to harmonise the various computer platforms, used by the various administration bodies. Very much money has been spent on these platforms, which many times are used far below their designed capacity, especially because of a lack of compatibility. What we plan is to increase this compatibility rate and bring computer systems of public services for the population to the maximum, and also raise to the maximum data and information exchanges among public organisations in their decision-making process and in the public policies implementing process," Dacian Ciolos said.
