Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca has stated that he has not accepted the bill on crisis situations, as there is a draft law in the defense package aimed at managing such situations, Agerpres reports.
"That was a draft law that has been abandoned when it came under analysis in the Government. I personally did not accept it, because I knew that in this package of laws for defense there is also a draft law aimed at managing crisis situations. (...) These were other legal provisions that interfered between the laws that are already in the draft law at the moment and those that were provided in the ordinance," Ciuca said in a statement given to the press.
Asked if the future package contains the provision according to which the Romanian army troops could pass under NATO command, Ciuca replied that in certain situations these troops are under the operational command of the Alliance.
