A selection of contemporary Ukrainian films, from disturbing dramas to savory comedies, documentaries or spectacular historical productions, will be presented to the public at the Ukrainian Film Festival, between August 15 and September 14, at Happy Cinema, informs a press release sent on Thursday, AGERPRES.
The event, organized by Happy Cinema in partnership with the Embassy of Ukraine in Romania, is open to all film lovers.
"The festival is a unique opportunity to discover current Ukrainian cinema, in a courageous and deeply human selection. (...) Through these films, we get closer not only to a neighboring culture, but also to universal life stories - about courage, love, survival and rediscovery," the press release states.
Among the titles that will be available to watch between August 15 and September 14 are "We Were Recruits", "Blind Vacation", "Kings of Rap", "Rocky Road to Berlin", "Don Juan from Zhashkiv", "Yaroslav The Wise", "Money Quest", "Russia Goodbye", "Neighbor".
"Through this festival, we want to offer the Romanian public the chance to get to know Ukraine through the creations of our artists, who, despite the ongoing armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, tell stories about life, love, loss and hope. Culture and cinematographic art, as an integral part of it, have been and continue to be a sincere bridge between our peoples, especially during this period of heroic struggle of the Ukrainian people for their independence, for European values and for the defense of democracy", said the representative of the Embassy of Ukraine in Romania.
All films will have English subtitles.
Tickets can be purchased at the cinema or online at www.happycinema.ro and www.cinemagia.ro.
