The general consolidated budget deficit declined to 6.6 billion lei (0.70 percent of the Gross Domestic Product - GDP) after the first ten months of 2017, from 6.8 billion lei (0.81 percent of the GDP) in the first nine months, the Public Finance Ministry informs.
The revenues of the general consolidated budget, totalising 207.9 billion lei, namely 24.7 percent of the GDP, were higher by 10.8 percent, in nominal terms, compared to the same period of the previous year.
The expenditures of the general consolidated budget, totalising 214.5 billion lei, have increased by 13.6 percent, in nominal terms, compared to the first ten months of the previous year.
The budget deficit target for the entire year is 2.96 percent of the GDP.
According to autumn economic forecast, published by the European Commission, the public deficit would reach 3 percent of the GDP in 2017, and in 2018, it would steepen more up to 3.9 percent of the GDP and reach 4.1 percent in 2019.
