Romanian-German duo Victor Cornea/Andre Begemann on Thursday progressed to the semifinals of the men's doubles event of the Swiss Open Gstaad ATP 250 tennis tournament in Switzerland, total commitments EUR 579,320, after defeating Greek brothers Stefanos and Petros Tsitsipas 7-6 (7/3) 3-6 11-9.
Cornea and his partner prevailed in an hour and 32 minutes, in which they managed 6 aces, unlike the 6 double faults of the Greeks.
The Tsitsipas brothers missed two match points in the super tiebreak, with Cornea and Begemann managing to win the last four points.
For their performance so far, Cornea and Begemann won EUR 9,600 and 90 ATP doubles points. In the semis, they will play Ugo Humbert/Fabrice Martin.
