AGERPRES special correspondent Cristian Lupascu reports: The Custodian of the Romanian Crown, Her Majesty Margareta, and Prince Radu were welcomed by the president of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, during their visit to the neighbouring country on Monday.
During the meeting, Maia Sandu thanked the Custodian of the Crown for the support that the Royal House of Romania constantly provides to the Republic of Moldova on a diplomatic level.
"Through everything that you do, through your constant presence here, in Chisinau, you support us and we appreciate this very much," said Maia Sandu.
In his turn, Prince Radu spoke about the increasing support that the Republic of Moldova enjoys internationally.
"I have noted with great pride that, as the political, military and economic situation on the continent has become more difficult, people have shown more instinct for goodness. (...) When efforts for NATO and the European Union began, the further west you went, the more interest there was. The further east you went, you were a bit alone. Now I see the opposite, which means that trust in the Republic of Moldova has grown, respect and admiration for the courage of the people here has grown," said Prince Radu.
During their visit to Chisinau on Monday, the Custodian of the Crown, Margareta, and Prince Radu will also participate in the opening of the Economic Forum "Investments - Development - European Integration" and will have a meeting with the governor of the National Bank of the Republic of Moldova, Anca Dragu.
