The international exhibition "Dacia! Rijk van goud en zilver"/"Dacia! Kingdom of gold and silver" will open on Sunday at the Drents Museum in Assen (the Netherlands).

The exhibition will bring to the attention of the Dutch public a representative selection of precious metal goods from archaeological finds from Romania's present-day territory, dating from the 18th-14th centuries BC to the beginning of the 4th century AD, with the most important part of the exhibition focusing on the Iron Age, more specifically on objects attributed to the Geto-Dacian culture, the National Museum of Romanian History said in a press release sent to AGERPRES.

Thirty years after the opening of the first exhibition of Romanian archaeology organized by a Dutch museum, the exhibition "Dacia! Rijk van goud en zilver" offers a new perspective on the culture and civilization of the Geto-Dacians, this time focusing on the spectacular art of Geto-Dacian goldsmiths and silversmiths, unique in the European space.

The 673 precious metal artifacts, part of over 50 treasures in the collections of 18 museums in Romania, will be exhibited in a unique and modern setting that highlights both the millenary history of archaeological goods and the richness of Dacian culture and civilization.

On this occasion on public display for the first time will be objects from three treasures discovered in recent years in the counties of Suceava, Bacau and Brasov.

The Assen exhibition will be open until January 26, 2025.
