Romania needs strong partnerships, investments in technology and a constant dialogue with allies, said Defense Minister Ionut Mosteanu, who was on an official visit to Luxembourg on Wednesday.

"Today I paid an official visit to Luxembourg, where we discussed how we can bring their expertise in technology and defense to Romania. Together with my counterpart, Yuriko Backes, I signed a letter of intent paving the way for a bilateral agreement in the field of defense. Romania and Luxembourg mark 115 years of diplomatic relations this year, and our cooperation is becoming increasingly relevant in the current security context," the defense minister wrote on Facebook.

He indicated that he had discussed with representatives of technology and defense companies - LUXUAV, SES and LUXGovSat - about concrete projects that can bring Luxembourg expertise to Romania and strengthen the Romanian defense industry.

"Innovation in areas such as satellites, secure communications and drones is essential for the Romanian army," Mosteanu said.

Also in Luxembourg, the minister had a meeting with Stacy Cummings, the general manager of the NATO Support and Acquisition Agency, ''to explore new collaboration opportunities that will strengthen Romania's defense capabilities''.

''Here I also discussed with some of the over 60 Romanians who work within the agency'', announced Ionut Mosteanu.

Romania needs strong partnerships, investments in technology and a constant dialogue with allies, concluded the defense minister.
