Deputy chief prosecutor of the National Anti-corruption Directorate (DNA) Calin Nistor will take over as head of this institution, after Anca Jurma announced she no longer wants her mandate as interim chief to be extended.
According to the internal regulations, the next in line to take over the DNA top job are the deputy chief prosecutors Calin Nistor and Marius Iacob, Augustin Lazar told AGERPRES.
Minister of Justice Tudorel Toader on Monday announced that Anca Jurma will give up her nomination for interim chief prosecutor at the DNA, with a notification in this respect being sent during the meeting of the Section for Prosecutors of the Supreme Council of Magistrates (CSM).
The office of chief prosecutor at the DNA remained empty after Laura Codruta Kovesi was dismissed under a decree issued by President Klaus Iohannis on July 9, the latter being forced to do so because of a resolution of the Constitutional Court.
Subsequently, the Minister of Justice proposed the nomination of Adina Florea for chief prosecutor at the DNA. President Klaus Iohannis rejected this proposal.
