The premiere of the documentary film entitled "The European Destiny of Romania", celebrating the Centennial of the Great Union and presenting the main contributions of our country to the history of Europe in the past 100 years through the prestigious personalities, will take place on Tuesday, at 4:00 pm, at the headquarters of the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR), according to an ICR press release issued for AGERPRES on Monday.
"About the evolution of Romania on its European integration path, but also about the contribution of our country to the civilization of all humankind, a number of personalities speak, in a series of interviews, within the documentary: Ioan Aurel Pop, President of the Romanian Academy, Razvan Theodorescu, Vice President of the Romanian Academy, Professor Gunter Stock, former President of the European Federation of Academies of Sciences and Humanities, Thierry de Montbrial, former President of the Institut de France, Teodor Melescanu, Romania's Minister of Foreign Affairs", the quoted source informs.
Also among the speakers are: Ioanel Sinescu, Rector of the Bucharest University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Iosif, Metropolitan bishop of the Romanian Orthodox Metropolitan Church of Western and Southern Europe, Dumitru Prunariu, the first Romanian cosmonaut, Vice-President of the European Space Agency's International Relations Committee, Nicolae Zamfir, General Manager of the Horia Hulubei National Institute for Research and Development for Physics and Nuclear Engineering, Aurel Vainer, President of the Federation of Jewish Communities in Romania, Sorin Ducaru, former Ambassador of Romania to NATO, Erna Hennicot-Schoepges, former member of the European Parliament, Jean-Jacques Askenasy, international personality in the field of neurology, member of the Romanian Academy, Basarab Nicolescu, French-Romanian physicist and philosopher, member of the Romanian Academy, Jaques de Decker, perpetual secretary of the Royal Academy of French Language and Literature of Belgium, Serge Fauchereau, member of the Romanian Academy, Dr. Jaime Gil Aluja, doctor in Economic Science and Professor of Finance and Economy at the University of Barcelona, member of the Romanian Academy.
The film, produced by the TEOFOR Education Association, in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will be screened in the European Parliament on the occasion of the cultural events associated with the takeover of the EU Council Presidency by Romania.
