The adoption of an emergency ordinance concerning the Criminal Codes is out of the question, according to Chamber of Deputies Speaker and Social Democratic Party (PSD) Chair Liviu Dragnea, informs Agerpres.
Asked on Monday, in Parliament, by journalists, whether an emergency ordinance concerning the Criminal Codes is currently unlikely, Dragnea answered "Yes".
The PSD leader said that he did not mention "emergency ordinance". "You said it", he told journalists.
Questioned on whether or not there were discussions during the PSD National Executive Committee concerning such an option, Dragnea specified that there were discussions about accelerating procedures.
"I know exactly what we talked about on Friday evening. We were all there and we all said and keep saying that the procedures need to be fast-tracked, because there has been a lot of delay. We will have an extraordinary session, but we cannot call extraordinary sessions all summer long. And then I will ask them myself today, Mr. Tariceanu and I, those who are part of the committee, to conclude the Criminal Code once and for all, to have it go to the final vote, and then we will enter the usual circuit," PSD chairman detailed.
Further asked if the duration of an extraordinary session will be of two weeks, he said : "At most".
Regarding the statements made on Friday, concerning the parliamentary procedure, Liviu Dragnea said that he talked about the fact that some terms got extended "We respected each and every one of those terms. Actually, we extended them, extended them, extended them, and it's not the case"
