The Romanian state institutions are deprofessionalised, the case of the fragments that could have come from a drone found in far eastern Tulcea county being "a big blunder of the Iohannis regime", the leader of Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) George Simion said Thursday in southeastern city of Ploiesti.
"It's a big blunder of the Iohannis regime, but that is what happened in the nine years of Klaus Iohannis' rule and that's probably why Mr. President is so happy and at peace with himself, for having an obedient government. (...) Neither the Orban nor the Citu governments were as obedient to Klaus Iohannis as this government is," Simion said, agerpres reports.
"I think that the Romanian state institutions are deprofessionalized and I think that the way politics has been practiced and the way political parties have operated in the last 30 years has been reflected in the quality of public institutions (...) The situation has become really bad. It's the same in the Army and in the multitude of intelligence and security services we have. (...) If we talk about corruption in different areas (...) only how many pieces of information came to our parliamentary cabinets about non-existent acquisitions for the Army... (...) It's not that they didn't know and didn't want to alarm the population, they really believed that such a case did not exist," he added.
Defence minister Angel Tilvar told AGERPRES on Wednesday that elements of an equipment "resembling drone debris" were found in Tulcea county, and the evidence will be analysed to establish the origin and characteristics of the equipment. The elements in question were found near the village of Plauru, at a distance of 70-80 meters from the Danube, in an area that is very difficult to access, with abundant vegetation, explained the minister, adding that the difference must be made between an act of aggression and an incident.
