Entrepreneurship education in the field of education is very important, minister of education and research Daniel David stated on Monday, emphasising that students, teachers and those in leadership positions in education do not have an entrepreneurial 'mindset' at any level.

"As a minister, I have come across complicated things. For example, people do not have this entrepreneurial mindset at any level. Of course, some do, but I speak as an entrepreneurial mindset in the system. Not at the level of students, not at the level of teachers, not at the level of management positions. When we discussed the framework plans and we were talking about decentralization, let the principals have a say, let the teachers have a say, let the students have a say, the attitudes were like this, in private: this is very good, this is what we have to do, but we do not know and are not prepared to do it, we cannot assume this decentralization, we are afraid," said David at the final of the "Marathon for Entrepreneurship Education" - the 3rd edition, organized by the National Confederation for Women's Entrepreneurship - CONAF.

He argued that the discipline of Entrepreneurship Education is important.

"We can't introduce subject matters for all the types of education that children should do in school, because at that time, the hours would be from 7:00 in the morning to 8:00 in the evening. Entrepreneurship education is very important, and the way we thought about it is as follows: we need a national curriculum, made up of learning units, and we will establish that national curriculum made up of learning units. After that, we will move some learning units into a mandatory subject matter, to which we will also change the name - Economics and Entrepreneurship Education, so that the word entrepreneur is also visible. We will move learning units into that subject matter from the common core. So, entrepreneurship will be there," explained Daniel David.

Other learning units will be part of the Counseling and Guidance discipline, which is mandatory.

"Children will be exposed to entrepreneurial education in a mandatory manner through the two subjects. And if they like it and if you do it well, we will have a subject called Entrepreneurial Education, optional, which can be chosen by the school and the children, if we make it a mandatory component well. I think it is a correct solution through which Entrepreneurial Education is present in school, but at the same time we treat it in the logic of a curriculum, as I said, where less, but relevant and taught well is better than more, irrelevant and taught poorly," the minister also stated.
