Cluj County Council (CJ Cluj) has completed a 5 million euros European-funded project through which, among other things, it equipped the Cluj-Napoca Clinical Rehabilitation Hospital with a hyperbaric chamber - the first of its kind in a public hospital in Romania.
'Cluj County Council has successfully finalised the European-funded project aimed at Equipping the Outpatient Department of the Clinical Rehabilitation Hospital'. (...) Through the project, 37 items of equipment were purchased, including a high-performance hyperbaric chamber - the only one of its kind in a public hospital in Romania - as well as robotic medical rehabilitation devices, such as a robotic gait system, a robotic system for the rehabilitation of the hand, elbow and shoulder, a robotic system supporting patients while walking and helping them regain balance, a virtual reality system and tele-rehabilitation equipment for neuromotor and musculoskeletal disorders, and a mobile robotic system for gait rehabilitation,' according to a press release issued on Thursday by CJ Cluj.
Other equipment acquired by the hospital includes a cervico-cerebral Doppler ultrasound examination system, a 4D ultrasound scanner, a deep micro-oscillation therapy device, equipment for the treatment of dysphagia, an ultrasound scanner dedicated to the comprehensive assessment of rheumatological conditions, and a focused shockwave therapy device.
The total value of the European project 'Equipping the Outpatient Department of the Clinical Rehabilitation Hospital', implemented by CJ Cluj and financed through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), amounted to 26,505,701.81 lei, VAT included. Of this amount, 13,189,116 lei represented eligible funding from the PNRR, 2,505,932.04 lei eligible VAT related to the PNRR, and 10,810,653.77 lei, VAT included, represented the council's own contribution.
'The greatest satisfaction related to this project is that we have equipped the Rehabilitation Hospital with the first hyperbaric chamber within a public healthcare unit in Romania. Of course, the robotic equipment, which plays a major role in patients' medical rehabilitation, is also extremely important, as are the other high-tech devices we have acquired for the only multidisciplinary rehabilitation hospital in Transylvania and one of only two such hospitals in the country. Having the experience of so many successfully completed European projects, our investments in healthcare will continue,' Cluj County Council President Alin Tise said, as quoted in the press release.
