The European Commissioner for Agriculture, Janusz Wojciechowski, will travel to Romania for an official visit on Wednesday, November 6, the European Commission has announced, informs Agerpres.
The commissioner will participate in the National Conference of Romanian Farmers' Club, with the theme "Multi-sectoral Pact for an Integrated Agricultural Policy of Romania - objective 2035".
During the event, the high-ranking official is a special guest in the interactive EU-Romania Dialogue on the Future of Agriculture, where he will talk about the perspectives of European farmers in the context of environmental, geo-political challenges and EU enlargement. At the same time, the European commissioner will also have an intervention in the plenary session, with the theme "Vision and action for the sustainable transformation of agriculture".
It will be a pleasure and an honor to address the National Conference of the Romanian Farmers' Club. First of all, it will be an opportunity to thank Romanian farmers for their vital contribution to food security, both in Europe and beyond. In recent years, farmers in Romania have shown remarkable resilience, passing well through a pandemic, through economic recessions and through the challenges related to the climate. Despite these challenges, they have ensured that, every day, no matter what happens, we have healthy and high-quality food on the table. During my mandate, I talked with the farmers in Romania on numerous occasions, said Janusz Wojciechowski, according to a press release.
He emphasized that, during the conference on Wednesday, he will answer the most important concerns of the farmers.
The European official added that he would also like to present the way in which the European Commission stands by the Romanian farmers and works for the Romanian farmers, to help them face these challenges.
