The European Patronage of Businesswomen (PEFA) is releasing the first ever Women's Entrepreneurship Index in Romania, an essential tool for measuring and understanding the impact of women's contribution to the Romanian economy and in the decision-making process at all levels.
The index is said to provide a detailed analysis of the dynamics of female entrepreneurship, facilitating strategic decision-making and the design of effective public policies.
"The Women's Entrepreneurship Index is an important step in strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Romania. Through this tool, we want to offer both the authorities and the business community a clear picture of the realities and opportunities offered by raising awareness about the importance of women's participation in the decision-making process at national, regional and international levels," PEFA Chair Andreea Negru is quoted as saying in a press statement released on Wednesday.
In her turn, PEFA First Deputy Chair Lorena Stoian said that the release of the Women's Entrepreneurship Index underlines the organisation's commitment to support and promote entrepreneurial initiatives, contributing to the development of a fair and sustainable business environment in Romania. "Women entrepreneurs in Romania have a huge potential, and this index is a concrete step towards recognising, supporting and maximising the potential."
The release of the Women's Entrepreneurship Index was possible thanks to the support provided by Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR), as a strategic partner, and Pluxee Romania. BCR and Pluxee Romania, together with PEFA, support this innovative initiative, unique in Romania, aimed at increasing visibility, support and confidence in the essential role of women in sustainable economic development and in building a modern society.
"For BCR, the normalisation of women's involvement in business is a strategic priority. Women entrepreneurs are the ones who support the economic dynamics and industries of the future, being an important contributor to everything that means innovation, digital transformation and sustainable development. We are glad to be with PEFA, because the local perspective and data help us turn inspiration into relevant actions and impact. And the release of the Women's Entrepreneurship Index is a concrete step toward putting female entrepreneurship at the centre of Romania's economic growth, through courage, access to resources and real opportunities," said Vice President of Retail & Private Banking BCR Dana Dima.
The European Patronage of Businesswomen (PEFA) is a member organisation of SME Romania dedicated to promoting and supporting entrepreneurship at national and European level. Through its initiatives, PEFA aims to create a modern, inclusive and equitable business environment.
