The European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) Brasov 2027, the winter edition, brings development opportunities at the junior level and sports infrastructure for local communities, said the president of the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee (COSR), Mihai Covaliu, according to the organization's Facebook account.
"EYOF Brasov 2027 is one of the most important sports projects that Romania will host in the coming years. Such an event not only brings European-level competitions, but also development opportunities for junior sports, for sports infrastructure and for local communities. The collaboration between COSR, the Government of Romania, Brasov County Council and Brasov City Hall, together with the city halls of the localities where the competitions will take place, is excellent and represents the foundation on which we build the success of this edition. Only together can we offer young athletes the conditions and experience they deserve", said Covaliu, on the occasion of the working meeting that COSR is organizing, for two days, with representatives of the Association of European Olympic Committees (EOC), in the context of preparations for EYOF Brasov 2027.
Deputy Prime Minister Barna Tanczos reaffirmed the Government's support to the EOC representatives: "Romania has the chance to organize a new European Olympic competition. It is a challenge for us, we support the COSR team in organizing it and, even if we know that it is not easy to coordinate such an event, we are ready to contribute to its success."
On Wednesday, the discussions will continue with the participation of the EYOF Brasov 2027 Organizing Committee, which will present the evolution of the projects, the status of the infrastructure and the operational priorities.
The EOC delegation is composed of Peter Brull, EOC Sport Director, and Michaela Uskova, EOC Sport Coordinator. The central theme of the meeting is the operational and administrative plan for EYOF Brasov 2027.
Tuesday's meeting, attended by heads of departments within COSR and those who will be involved in the organization, focused on finalizing the operational and administrative plan of the event, the analysis of the sports and logistical infrastructure, inter-institutional coordination, the competition program, the participation quota, the calendar of implementation stages.
