Foreign Affairs Minister Teodor Melescanu considers the documentary film "The European Destiny of Romania", presented on Tuesday at the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR), represents a special commemoration act of those who participated in the Greater Union, in the achievement of the European destiny of our country.
"For us it is an extraordinary advantage because, starting with 1 January, 2019, we will ensure the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union," Melescanu said at the event.
He said that he wanted this film to be screened at all the actions organized at the opening of Romania's presidency. "We have seven more projects. With God's help, we hope to carry them through," concluded the head of the Romanian diplomacy.
ICR President Liliana Turoiu characterized the event as a special one, bringing to mind that during the year 2018, the ICR organized about 3,000 events, almost three times more than any year, of which over 700 dedicated to the Centennial of the Greater Union and the Great War.
The premiere of the documentary film "The European Destiny of Romania", celebrating the Centennial of the Greater Union and presenting the main contributions of our country to the history of Europe over the past 100 years through prominent personalities, took place on Tuesday at the Romanian Cultural Institute.
The film, produced by the TEOFOR Education Association, in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will be screened in the European Parliament on the occasion of the cultural events associated with the takeover of the EU Council Presidency by Romania.
