Diplomatic action must be efficient, rapid and pragmatic in a world facing multiple crises and challenges with a direct impact on us, Foreign Minister Luminita Odobescu said on Wednesday, in the context of the Annual Meeting of Romanian Diplomacy (RADR), told Agerpres.

Minister Odobescu attended, at the Victoria Palace, together with Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, the event dedicated to the Annual Meeting of Romanian Diplomacy.

"We are honored to welcome you on the occasion of this year's edition of the Annual Meeting of Romanian Diplomacy. Every year, our meeting is an opportunity for reflection and prioritisation of the Romanian diplomacy activities and, at the same time, an occasion to ensure a close coordination with the relevant institutions for the implementation of Romania's foreign policy objectives. In a world facing multiple crises - and we saw them again last night at our border -, with challenges with a direct impact on us, diplomatic action must be efficient, rapid and pragmatic," Luminita Odobescu said.

She highlighted the importance of Romanian diplomacy's objectives in ensuring security and prosperity for Romanian citizens.

"As diplomats, we are part of today's complex processes aimed at ensuring peace, stability and cooperation at international level, and our objectives are to ensure security and prosperity for Romanian citizens. In this regard, we have benefited from the consistent support of the Prime Minister and colleagues in the Government, whom I would like to thank on this occasion. Prime Minister, we continue to count on your support, as well as on the support of our colleagues in the Government. We assure you that our efforts will continue to be sustained, in order to respond as effectively and efficiently as possible to the current challenges and to promote the interests of Romania and Romanian citizens," she pointed out.
