C-27J Spartan aircraft of the Romanian Air Force, configured for medical missions, departed from the Bucharest-based Otopeni airport on Monday to carry out a humanitarian mission to transport four patients with burns from Skopje, North Macedonia, to a hospital in Vilnius, Lithuania.

During the flight, the patients are being monitored by a medical team provided by the Romanian emergency rescue service SMURD and the Bucharest Emergency Clinical Hospital, according to a press release of the Romanian Ministry of Defence.

At least 59 people died and over 150 were injured in the fire that broke out on the night between Saturday and Sunday in a nightclub in North Macedonia, Interior Minister Pance Toskovski said, specifying that arrest warrants have been issued for four people as part of the investigation into the causes of the tragedy, AFP and Reuters reported.
