The 32nd edition of the Gaudeamus Book Fair organised by Radio Romania will open its doors on Wednesday in Pavilion B2 of the Romexpo Exhibition Centre, inviting visitors to a true literary showcase proposed by more than 180 participants, who will offer readers over 600 publishing events.
According to a press release sent to AGERPRES on Tuesday, the official opening of the 2025 Bucharest edition of the Gaudeamus Book Fair will take place on Wednesday at 12:00, at the Radio Romania stand inside the fair.
"A true literary feast and numerous surprises await those who step into Pavilion B2 Romexpo this week: over 180 participants, including all prestigious publishing houses in Romania, distributors of Romanian and foreign books, university presses and higher-education institutions, music distributors and a very rich and diverse range of educational games," Radio Romania noted.
More than 600 publishing events will also take place, both in the six dedicated spaces within the pavilion, as well as at the participants' stands, bringing together book launches and presentations, editorial projects, debates, meetings with authors and signing sessions.
As in previous editions, one of the event areas set up on the fair premises, named "Ion Creanga", will be dedicated mainly to the youngest visitors.

This year too, Gaudeamus and Radio Romania will bring their traditional accompanying projects:
- The Gaudeamus Trophies, awarded since 1997, will be presented at the end of the edition to three participating publishing houses and for "The Most Coveted Book of the Fair", based on the Public Vote.
- "Top 10 Guests: Romania's Olympiad Winners", the project through which Radio Romania and its partners reward and promote pupils who achieve exceptional results in international academic competitions. Prizes worth more than 40,000 lei will be offered by Cosmo Pharm, a long-standing sponsor of the fair.
- The exhibition "Iulia Hasdeu, a Brilliant Child" (Mircea Nedelciu event space) is hosted by Gaudeamus and organised by the National Archives of Romania, presenting a reconstruction of Iulia Hasdeu's personality through her school notebooks, correspondence with B.P. Hasdeu during her studies in Paris, her posthumously published works and transcripts from the spiritualist sessions initiated by her grieving father.
- The exhibition "METALIBRIS" (Radio Romania stand) includes fifteen book-objects created from various materials and techniques specific to each artist (eco-printing, hand embroidery, crochet, paper and textile collage, synthetic material, beads, glass, metal).
The honorary president of this edition will be journalist, writer and foreign-policy analyst Sabina Fati.
The visiting schedule of the fair, open to all book lovers until 7 December, will be daily from 10:00 to 20:00, with free public access.
The 2025 Bucharest edition of the Gaudeamus Radio Romania Book Fair will once again conclude, as tradition demands, the series of book- and education-themed exhibitions organised this year by the public radio broadcaster in Craiova, Cluj-Napoca, Oradea, Buzau, Brasov, Sibiu and Iasi - the cities that hosted the 2025 Gaudeamus Caravan. The support of the local communities is, in each location, an essential element in ensuring the continuity of this national project.
The event is organised by the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation, the only radio station in the world which, according to the organisers, "has assumed the mission of contributing to the public's information and education through an event of such magnitude".
The Gaudeamus Fair is a cultural project funded by the Ministry of Culture.
Books signed by well-known authors such as Gabriel Liiceanu, Dan C. Mihailescu, Ioana Parvulescu and Gabriela Adamescu will be presented at this edition.
