Gaudeamus Book Fair opens in Timisoara, encouraging youth to start reading at early age

The 13th edition of the Gaudeamus Book Fair, which takes place from November 1 to 5 in Timisoara 2023 European Capital of Culture, has opened its doors under the belief that the duty of each of those who live in literature and are educators is to convey the essential message, especially among young people, that we must read every day.

The Honorary President of this year's Gaudeamus Book Fair, writer Robert Serban, stressed that the future of books will be much more attractive thanks to new technologies, giving more possibilities to read a text.

Mayor Dominic Fritz, present at the opening of the Gaudeamus Fair, highlighted the need to start reading from an early age, developing reading skills in children as early as possible.

This edition of the Gaudeamus Radio Romania Caravan gathers 40 participants and 12 dedicated events.

Visiting hours will be daily, from 10.00 to 20.00, and public access is free.

The most read book fair in Romania, from the most listened to radio station, has reached its 13th edition, and 140 presentations in the history of three decades of this national project, a record that confirms the status of landmark of the national book market of the entire programme initiated and run by Radiodifuziunea Romana. 40 participants, representing some of the most active sectors in the book and educational materials industry - publishing houses, Romanian and foreign book distribution agencies, producers and distributors of educational games and music, offer Timisoara's citizens the latest publishing releases, bestsellers and upcoming titles, special offers and packages. The 12 events programmed on this occasion - book launches and presentations, autograph sessions, debates - will give visitors to the fair the opportunity to meet the best known and most loved writers of Timisoara.

In addition to the events held during the fair and useful information for visitors, the Radio Romania Gaudeamus Facebook page will host numerous contests with book prizes offered by the participants to this edition.

Through the virtual stands, the "mirror" of the fair held in the classic format and the events broadcast live, the website www.gaudeamus.ro will also offer those who will not be present in Timisoara during this period the opportunity to participate online in the 2023 edition.
