Gaudeamus book fair trophies go to Humanitas, Corint and Bookzone publishing houses

The winners of the Gaudeamus Trophies, decided by public vote carried out over the five days of the fair (3-7 December) based on questionnaires completed upon exit, have been awarded to Humanitas Publishing Group (first place), Corint Publishing Group (second place) and Bookzone Publishing House (third place), Radio Romania reported.

Close behind were ART Publishing Group, Litera Publishing House, Polirom Publishing House, Nemira Publishing House and Trei Publishing House.

The prize for the Most Coveted Book of the fair this year goes to 'Fericirea e în actul urmator' by Marius Manole, published by Bookzone and launched on Saturday.

The Education Prize was awarded to the Publishing House of the Bucharest University of Economic Studies and the Excellence Prize awarded by Radio Romania, which consists of partial funding of a publishing project, goes this year to Junimea Publishing House for diversifying its publishing portfolio.

The Antoaneta Ralian Translation Prize, awarded by a jury made up of Denisa Comanescu, Ion Bogdan Lefter and Bogdan Ghiu, goes for translation from Romanian into a foreign language to Corneliu Popa for his Portuguese translation of Dinu Flamand's poems 'La frontiera noptii / Na fronteira da noite' published by Junimea. For translation from a foreign language into Romanian the prize goes to Luana Schidu for her English translation of "Our Strangers"/"Strainii nostri. Povestiri" by Lydia Davis, published by Vellant.
