GCS: 399 patients with COVID-19 in intensive care, of whom seven children, 38 deaths in SARS-CoV-2 infected patients reported in 24 hours

A number of 2,322 people infected with SARS-CoV-2 are hospitalised, of whom 53 are children, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) announced on Friday, agerpres reports.

According to the GCS, 399 patients are admitted to ICUs, down from the previous day, seven of whom are children.

Of the patients admitted to intensive care, 32 had a certificate attesting to the vaccination against COVID.

According to the data available in the alerte.ms application, at national level, there are 1,310 ICU beds for COVID-19 patients, of which 304 in Bucharest.

In Romania, 8,498 people confirmed with the novel coronavirus infection are in isolation at home, and 2,562 in institutional isolation.

Also, 88,604 people are in quarantine at home and in institutional quarantine - 58.

In the last 24 hours, 1,217 calls were registered to the 112 single emergency number and 346 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened especially for informing citizens.

A total of 38 deaths - 16 men and 22 women - in patients infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus were reported in the last 24 hours, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reported on Friday.

Of the 38 deaths, one was recorded in the 40-49 age group, one in the 50-59 age group, 8 in the 60-69 age group, 16 in the 70-79 age group, and 12 in the age group over 80 years.

According to the GCS, 37 of the deaths were in patients with comorbidities and no comorbidities have been reported for two patients to date.

Of the 38 patients who died, 30 were unvaccinated and 8 were vaccinated. The 8 vaccinated patients who died were in the 60-69 age group and over 80 years old. All vaccinated patients who died had comorbidities.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 58,752 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died in Romania.
