The National Chamber Orchestra of the Republic of Moldova and the Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra will perform on Tuesday in Bucharest, while the "Transylvania" State Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir will hold a concert at the Auditorium Maximum Hall in Cluj-Napoca, as part of the "George Enescu" International Festival 2025, according to the website of the international event.
The National Chamber Orchestra of the Republic of Moldova, under the baton of conductor Cristian Florea, featuring Ilie Garnet on violin, will deliver a performance at 05:00PM, at the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest, agerpres reports.
The evening program includes George Enescu's "Prélude ŕ l'unisson" from Suite No. 1 Op. 9; Benjamin Britten's "Variations on a Theme of Frank Bridge", Op. 10; Giuseppe Tartini/Fritz Kreisler "Devil's Trill"; Georges Bizet/Franz Waxman - "Carmen Fantasy" for violin and orchestra; and Constantin Rusnac's "Sarbatoreasca."
The Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra, under the baton of conductor Keri-Lynn Wilson, returns to the Palace Hall in Bucharest for a new concert at 8:00 PM. Soprano Rachel Willis-Sorensen will also take the stage.
The evening program includes Victoria Polevá's "Bucha. Lacrimosa"; Richard Strauss's "Four Last Songs"; Antonín Dvorák's Symphony No. 8 in G major, Op. 88.
The "Transylvania" State Philharmonic Orchestra of Cluj-Napoca and the "Transylvania" State Philharmonic Choir of Cluj-Napoca, with Cristian Mandeal as conductor and Cornel Groza as choir conductor, will perform at 7:00 PM at the Auditorium Maximum Hall in Cluj-Napoca.
Also taking the stage will be soprano Lucy Crowe, mezzosoprano Jess Dandy, tenor Benjamin Hullet and bass Alastair Miles.
On Tuesday evening, the audience will hear Ludwig van Beethoven's "Missa solemnis" in D major, Op. 123.
The 27th edition of the "George Enescu" International Festival is taking place in Bucharest and across the country until September 21. This year's theme is "Celebrations," marking the 70th anniversary of the death of the great Romanian composer.
