Romania will receive 109 Syrian refugees between 2018-2019, who are currently temporarily stationed in Turkey, spokesman of the Government Nelu Barbu told a press conference held at the Victoria Palace.
"Romania will receive 109 Syrian refugees between 2018-2019, who are currently temporarily stationed in Turkey, (...) The decision is meant to comply with the relocation quota established by the Committee for the relocation of refugees in Romania," specified Nelu Barbu.
He also said that in 2018 there will be 40 refugees, who are now in Turkey, and in 2019 a number of 69 refugees.
"40 represents the annual quota and the other 29 are refugees we did not relocate to Romania between 2014-2015, as we were supposed to, according to our country's commitments," stated the Government's spokesman.
