The measures passed on Thursday by the Executive are designed to secure continuity of infrastructure works in the country and accelerating investment, according to Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Ciprian Serban.
The government on Thursday, at the proposal of the Romanian Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, passed a series of government decisions that give "a new impetus to the large road infrastructure projects in Romania."
"The legislative package covers both additional expropriations and updating technical documentation, without which the ongoing construction sites could not continue at their pace. Among the investment it is considering is the Sibiu-Fagaras Motorway, Section 4, where the administrations have approved the expropriation of over 220,000 square metres of land, within the radius of the localities in Brasov County. The funds approved for the expropriations exceed RON 789,000," Serban wrote in a social media post.
Also in the area of road infrastructure, it was decided to provide over RON 3 million in additional funding for the funds intended for compensation for the bypass of Satu Mare, an essential project for streamlining traffic in the north-west of the country.
"Also featuring on the agenda was the Focsani-Bacau Motorway, where the expropriations necessary for the relocation of utilities received the green light, along with the Bucharest Ring Motorway - South Belt, for which funds were approved for the expropriations worth about RON 2.6 million for the section located between kilometres 52+770 and 69+000. At the same time, the executive agreed on the arrangement of a roundabout on DN 2, at Sindrilita, an investment that involves expropriations estimated at RON 46,200 lei," Serban said.
Also, the government approved the correction of some documentation and the supplementation of the compensation necessary for the works on the additional site, necessary for the relocation of utilities, all works that are carried out in connection with the suspension bridge over the Danube in Braila.
"Through these decisions, a clear signal is sent that large infrastructure projects remain a priority. The measures passed are meant to secure continuity of works and speeding the investment calendar to the benefit of citizens' mobility and regional economic development," according to Serban.
